"For many years I have been obsessed with folk imagery and patterns. Traditional folk arts are rooted in and reflective of the cultural life of a community and are often represented in patterns, symbolism, flora and fauna. All of these aspects of folk-inspired imagery are a huge influence in my work. This blue bird is a simple homage to my love for folk imagery and pattern".
